The God within me

Quest for the eternal
Thirst for the almighty
I chose to meander aimlessly
I chose to swim searching for deeper shores
I couldn’t find Him
Until He showed up within me

Portraits of raw paint
Lifeless stones galore
Fables of fantasy
Belief galore
I looked for Him everywhere
Until he knocked silently on the closed doors of my icy soul

Everywhere I see
People believing the divine so dutifully
Offering their all
Hoping for an end to their life’s gloomy pall
He doesn’t exist in those grand structures
He exists in their belief and in their hope.

“Are you an atheist” they asked
I pondered, smiled and moved on
Unruly it would be of me to break their hope
For that hope is nothing but His holy presence
Unaware of His presence within their souls
Sad it is that yet they search for Him in stones and fables.

As I enjoy the God in me
Those gut calls of conscience helping me
Guiding me, chiding me and steering me towards calmness
He arrived at a time when I stopped searching
Thus all must look within instead of wandering clueless externally

For all must rejoice His being like I did and find the God in them!
